"First-Class Service Throughout"

“I have been traveling for many, many years and done so many city tours but these have been the best, we have been spoiled now, it will be difficult to live up to our next trip.”  Trip Advsiro Review

*************************ESQUIRE MAGAZINE*************************

“After decades of dismissing the idea of taking a guided city tour, I have now come around to believe that, with the proper guide, I can learn a whole lot more in a shorter period of time than if I did my own expeditions, guidebook in hand, around a vast city like Dallas.”
“I had not just a proper guide but a fellow whose exuberance and intimate knowledge of the city opened my eyes not only to what was historical about Dallas but what is new and exciting all against a background of how this wheeling, dealing Texas town grew into what it is today.”
“His name is John Estes . . . “

Spotlight on Dallas!

A 3-hour tour that spotlights the West End Historical District, Dealey Plaza and the John F. Kennedy Memorial, Pioneer Plaza, the ATT Performing Arts Center (featuring the Winspear Opera House, Meyerson Symphony Hall, Wyly Theater and the City Performance Hall), art museums (Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center and the Crow Collection of Asian Art), the inner-city Klyde Warren Park, the ultra-exclusive village of Highland Park featuring the homes of oil barons and ultra-rich hedge fund managers, and the campus of Southern Methodist University located in University Park, a village 8 miles north of downtown Dallas and the location of the George W. Bush Presidential Center

Spotlight on Fort Worth!

“Where the West Begins!”  Located only 30 miles across Texas prairie from Dallas, this 5-hour tour of Fort Worth is a significant contrast in culture to its north Texas neighbor.   Modern skyscrapers, world-class art museums and an architecturally-significant water garden contrasts with the historical Fort Worth Stockyards dating back to the late 1800’s.  The daily parade of longhorn steers is a feature of the visit and a peek into the auction room of the Fort Worth Stock Exchange, known as “The Wall Street of the West”, provides an overview of the buying and selling of cattle that influences the price of beef at your supermarket.

Spotlight on Dealey Plaza and JFK

A 4-hour tour of historical landmarks where the assassination of President Kennedy shocked the world!  In one split second, the world was changed forever.  This is an enhanced version of the one-hour visit to the site that is included in Spotlight on Dallas!  In addition to the walking tour of Dealey Plaza, the City Jail where Ruby murdered Oswald, the County Jail where Ruby was incarcerated, Oswald’s boarding house and the plaque honoring Officer Tippit are pointed out.

Spotlight on SouthFork Ranch

Explore the grounds and ranch house in a 3-hour tour of this internationally famous television show.  “Dallas” has been shown in over 90 countries and translated into over 50 languages.  Uncover the secrets of “movie magic” and how producers and directors of the series used camera angles and tricks to enhance the scenes and plots of the weekly show.

Private tours with Explore Dallas Tours are custom designed to reflect the passengers' major interests.  The duration of each stop along the way is determined by the participants' desire to linger and enjoy the uniqueness of the attraction.  While not guaranteed, every effort is made to enter some public buildings not usually available to group tours.

Comprehensive, Enthusiastic and Committed to Excellence

John Estes via Explore Dallas Tours is the quintessential tour guide with unparalleled knowledge of Dallas. For my keen interests in the JFK assassination, he conducted a tour of Dealey Plaza and the surrounding landmarks and attractions associated with that occurrence on November 22, 1963. His comparison of the findings of the Warren Commission Report to what is known today from computer applications of film and audio by National Geographic documentaries was unanticipated, surprising and interesting. His exceptional focus for details on the architectural designs and fund-raising activities for the museums and performance halls of the Dallas Arts District was impressive. John is comprehensive and provides a truly enjoyable experience touring Dallas. I highly recommend John and Explore Dallas Tours!

An Informative Tour by an Experienced Tour Guide

My parents and family were visiting Dallas for the first time and really enjoyed the 3 hour drive around Dallas. The tour was very informative and a lot of fun. Even though it rained and they had to cut short the initial walking part, John Estes made sure they could see as much as possible in spite of the heavy rains. He also suggested some good restaurants and cafes which they enjoyed. I will highly recommend this tour!

                                                  SPOTLIGHT ON DALLAS AMAZING

Arriving in Dallas for a 3 night stay. Westin Galleria Hotel highly recommended this tour. Amazing host John went above and beyond: home made muffins, bottled water each. John went well out of his way to accommodate any requests. John was a fountain of knowledge. The tour was fantastic.
